Wilma Jean Lawrence, 85, of Huntsville, Arkansas, died December 8, 2016 at Meadowview Healthcare and Rehab in Huntsville, Arkansas. She was born May 31, 1931 at Hindsville, Arkansas, the daughter of Howard Andrew and Eva Helen Shepherd Hayes. She had retired from the Dietary Department of Meadowview Healthcare and Rehab and was a member of the Huntsville United Methodist Church and the Madison County Genealogical and Historical Society. She was the widow of Vashni Jackson "Jack" Lawrence whom she married on April 6, 1958 and who preceded her in death on August 18, 1966. She was also preceded in death by one brother, James Hayes.
Survivors include: one sister, Betty Easley of Huntsville, Arkansas; one nephew and niece-in-law, Perry and Debra Thompson of Garden City, Missouri; two great-nephews and great-nieces-in-law, Mark and Linsey Thompson of LaCygne, Kansas and Matthew and Jennifer Thompson of Freeman, Missouri; one great-niece, Makayla Thompson of Garden City, Missouri; two great-great-nephews, Trayce Thompson of LaCygne, Kansas and Tallen Thompson of Freeman, Missouri and three great-great-nieces, Brylee Thompson and Kinslee Thompson, both of LaCygne, Kansas and Kalie Thompson of Freeman, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Saturday, December 17, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with The Reverend Brad Moore officiating. Interment will be in the Old Union Cemetery at Cincinnati, Arkansas under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: Perry Thompson, Mark Thompson, Matthew Thompson, Makayla Thompson, Paul Andrews and Dwain Bolinger. Honorary pallbearers will be: Tallen Thompson, Trayce Thompson, Brylee Thompson, Kinslee Thompson, Kalie Thompson, Dorothy Dyer, Clara Wheeler, Diane Baker and Jerry Samuels. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A. M. to 11:00 A. M. on Saturday at the funeral home.
