Mrs. Doris Jean Samuel, age 76 of Hope, Arkansas passed away Friday, March 5, 2021 in Nashville, AR. Doris was born November 25, 1944 to Harley and Jewel West in Manila, Arkansas. Over the years, she worked as a bricklayer, farmer, and also for Walmart. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Hope. Family was so important to her. She always put her children first and loved hosting family dinners. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, David Lee Samuel; and sister, Wanda Grant.

Doris is survived by three sons: Nathan Ray Whitt (Sherry) of Alto, TX, Freddie Lee Whitt (Lisa) of DeAnn, AR, Aaron Samuel (Marlena) of Tyler, TX. Two daughters, Brenda Faye Hartness (Ray) of Nashville, AR and Penny Jewel Turner of Texarkana, AR; brother, Sherman West of Lockesburg, AR; sisters, Nancy Adams of Dequeen, AR and Peggy Gourdon of Goldonna, LA; Eleven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

There will be no public visitation.

A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M Sunday, March 7, 2021 at White Oak Grove Cemetery, in DeAnn with Bro. John Nations officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of BRAZZEL/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope, Eddie Brazzel, Director.
