Leon Ray Ritch, 72, went to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ, on June 20, 2016. He was born March 26, 1944, to Susie (Guist) and Andrew Ritch.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; his mother, Susie; his father, Andrew; four brothers, Johnny, Raymond, Odell and Floyd; and five sisters, Marie, Velma, Margaret, Peggy and Thelma.
He joined the United States Army with his best friend Dwayne Hickman. He was stationed at Fort Polk, La., and was in the Army for four years.
He retired from the University of Arkansas after many years of employment. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved camping, hunting and fishing and loved to eat fish and hot dogs.
He was a loving brother and friend. He was always grateful for everything and he lived life to the fullest. We will all miss him.
He is survived by his stepson, John Hutton; four sisters, Mary, Wanda, Linda and Vera; two brothers, Rickey and Jackie; and many extended family.
Graveside goodbyes were at 4:30 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2016, at Tharpe Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark.
