Robert Eli Quarles, 82, died Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Marlin Nutt in Bearden. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Williams Quarles; three daughters, Mrs. Nutt, Mrs. Herman Mosley, also of Bearden and Mrs. Fowler Wallingsford of Camden; three sons, Luther Quarles of Bearden, Jackie Quarles of Hamburg; two brothers, Jack Quarles of Bearden and Jeff Quarles of Pine Bluff; 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 in the Assembly of God Church in Bearden. Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce is in charge of arrangements. (Camden News - February 14, 1966)
