Essie Lee “Wagg” Lambert, 82, of Waldo passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the Community Compassion Center (formerly Magnolia Health and Rehabilitation Center) in Magnolia.

She was born December 10, 1935 to the late Lee Jean Brown and Eula Mae Steele in Magnolia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Jean Brown and Eula Mae Steele of Magnolia; her husband, Eddie Lee Lambert; daughters, Earl Bell Johnson and Essie Bell Turner; brother, Lee Arthur Brown; and sisters, Eula Brown and Corine Brown.

She leaves to cherish her love and memories two daughters, Janie Davis of Waldo and Leslie Harrell of Magnolia; four sons, Marzell (Sonya) Turner of Waldo, Lorenzo Turner of Waldo, Gary (Loretta) Turner, and Michael (Denise) Lambert of Waldo; three sisters, Margie (Curtis) Turner of Waldo, Minnie (Randy) Malone of Waldo, and Shirley Blackwell of Waldo; four brothers: Lee Andrew (Roy Mae) Brown of Dallas, Arthur D. (Ella) Brown of Dallas, LeeVan (Katie) Brown of Waldo, and Linzell Davis of Waldo; two sisters-in-law, Dr. Omega Brown of Dallas and Mae Bell Wright of Waldo; 26 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great grandchildren; two special friends, Vanessa Beasley of Waldo and Cheryl Daniels of McNeil; along with a host of friends and family who will miss her dearly.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday September 22 at Cotton Belt Church of God in Christ in Waldo.

Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Waldo under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home LLC of Magnolia.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Smith, Nicholas Howell, James Earl Young, Kenneth Turner, Willie Wright Sr., Mark Young, James Brown and Clifton Hughey.

Officiating will be Superintendent James Turner.

Visitation will be held noon to 4:30 p.m. Friday, September 21 at the funeral home.
