SPRINGDALE — Thelma Murrell Harbison, age 88, of Springdale, went to be with the Lord on May 5, 2012, at her home in Springdale. She was born April 7, 1924, the daughter of Roy Andrew and Edith Reed Murrell, in Morris, Okla.
She moved to Springdale as a child with her parents in May 1932 from Oklahoma. She was a member of Gospel of Peace Tabernacle Church in Springdale and a retired sales clerk from Campbell-Bell Department Store where she worked for 34 years. Ms. Harbison loved her church, her family, playing her piano and her dog, Sylvie. She was preceded by her parents, her husband, Forrest Harbison, and five brothers.
She is survived by one daughter, Edith Ann Rizley and her husband, Wayne, of Lowell; one brother, Ed Murrell, of Kingston; one sister, Barbara Corter, of Springdale; and one granddaughter, Jacque Rizley, of Springdale.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Gospel of Peace Tabernacle Church in Springdale with Rev. Ray Main and Wayne Rizley officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 8, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Ed Murrell, Donald Corter, Matt Johnson, Chuck Main, Chris Main and Donnie Drymon.
