Mrs. Luci Cindy Powledge, 85, died Sunday at a local hospital following a brief illness. She was born Sept. 5, 1879, in Union County, the daughter of Commodore and Mary Ann Primm Rogers, was a lifelong resident of Union County and a lifetime member of the Fredonia Methodist Church. Survivors are one son, Glen D. Powledge, El Dorado, one foster daughter, Mrs. E. B. Slaughter, El Dorado; two granddaughters, Mrs. R. I. Mitcham, Bernice, La. and Mrs. Lane Miller, Crossett; four foster grandchildren; four great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Fredonia Methodist Church with the Rev. I. L. Claude and the Rev. James Robkin officiating. Burial will follow at the Fredonia Cemetery under the direction of Rumph's Mortuary. The body will be taken to the Powledge residence at 3103 West Hillsboro St., Monday afternoon.
