Obituary:
Dorothy Mae Taylor, 81, of Batesville, departed this life Tuesday, April 11, 2017. She was born March 27, 1936 in Leachville, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Arvil and Minnie (Robertson) Dodd.
Dorothy was lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 9577 at Newark. She was a devoted mother to her children. Everything Dorothy did revolved around her family. When she was younger, she liked riding motorcycles and racing cars. Dorothy was a very feisty lady and enjoyed making people laugh. She enjoyed working in her garden and raising plants. Her hobbies included playing guitar, bingo, cooking, listening to music and dancing. During her stay at the nursing home, Dorothy tried taking care of all the other residents in the nursing home. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Left to cherish Dorothy's memory is her two sons, Ronnie Taylor of Oil Trough and Donald Taylor of Batesville; three daughters, Deborah Armbruster and husband Billy of Granite City, Illinois, Diane Derington of St. Louis, and Linda Poe and husband Allen of Thida; twelve grandchildren, Bradley Armbruster, Gerry Armbruster, Cory Armbruster, Rodney Armbruster, Chrissy Simmons, Casey Phillips, Tabatha Hightower, Allen Poe III, Shelly Chance, Jeff Taylor, Jason Taylor, and Leah Taylor; twenty six great grandchildren, one great-great grandson; several nieces, nephews, many of family members and friends.
In addition to her parents Dorothy was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Dodd, Gerry Dodd, and Buel Dodd; and one sister, Joyce Pennington.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. at Bradford Memorial Funeral Home of Bradford Memorial Funeral Home in Bradford, Arkansas.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Bradford Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow at Oakland Cemetery.
