John Howard Hayes, 83 of Waldo, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Magnolia Health and Rehabilitation Center in Magnolia.
He was born on June 26, 1929 in Columbia County to the late George Washington and Eva Opal (Bufford) Hayes. He was A Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp serving during the Korean Conflict, retired from Amfuel and was a member of Antioch West Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margaret Burns, and Dorothy Fox; and a brother James Hayes.
John is survived by son John A. Hayes and wife Judy of Waldo; three grandchildren, Wesley Hayes and wife Janna of Highland Village, Texas, Jamie Warbington and husband Adam of El Dorado and Taylor Hayes of Magnolia; great grandson, Braden Hayes of Texarkana, Texas; and two step grandsons, Brent Register and Alex Whitelaw of Magnolia.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am at Antioch West Baptist Church with Bro. Chris Lucy officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home in Magnolia. Visitation with the family will be on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Antioch West Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Gary Smith, Brian Palmer, Jack Britt, Russell Taylor, Jackie Hudman, and Buddy Tripp.
Memorials may be to Antioch West Baptist Church.
