Bertie M. George, 90, of Wabash, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at DeWitt, Arkansas. Mrs. George was born August 18, 1922 to the late Johnny Widemon and the late Mammie Jackson Widemon. She was a member of Blackwater Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Elbert George (Pat), Elvin George (Wilma) and Melvin George (Tina), all of Lambrook, Arkansas; nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sibajean Closs of Marshall, Michigan, Heneritta Files of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Delorise Kellum of Gideon, Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years, Delbert George; a son, Johnny I. George; sister, Marietta Brittian; brother, Byron Lee Widemon; and two stepbrothers, Randoff Brittian and Don Brittian.

Services for Bertie George will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park at West Helena, Arkansas. Reverend Danny Weatherford will officiate.

Pallbearers are Kaleb Hall, Jared Windham, Johnny Hall, Rusty Jackson, Corby Morton and James Guest, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Harold Brown, Larry Perkins, Bobby Grady and Mann Copeland.

Memorials may be made to Lambrook Baptist Church.

Services will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.
