When Theodore Albert Schatz was born on March 13, 1921, in Wagoner, Oklahoma, his father, Werner, was 46 and his mother, Concordia, was 33. He married Harriet Mayfield on December 30, 1950. They had one child during their marriage. He died on January 3, 1983, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at the age of 61.
