When Ada Ann Stone was born on April 21, 1879, in Newton, Arkansas, her father, Elijah, was 51, and her mother, Martha, was 36. She had 13 children with John Henry Gassaway and children with Jesse N. Adikisson (1864–1904). She died in 1945 at the age of 66, and was buried in Pleasant Grove, Arkansas.
