Waymond Launius, age 87, of Camden died Friday. Mr. Launius is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Madge Wyatt Launius, brother, Bennett Launius and a son Tony Alan Launius.
Mr. Launius was a Mason and was a member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was a Army veteran of WWII and toured in the Italian theatre. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
Mr. Launius is survived by his wife of 64 years, Alice Sanders Launius, daughters, Waydean Waller of Nash, TX and Peggy Bradley of Texarkana, TX; brother, J. B. Launius of Maumelle, AR; granddaughter, Jill Neal and husband, Jared of Hughes Springs, TX, grandsons, Chris Waller and wife, Leslie of Texarkana, AR and Lance Waller and wife, Rachel of New Boston, TX; great grandchildren, Gage Waller, Gracie Waller, Tye Greenwood and Trace Waller and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Proctor Funeral Home Sunday from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Monday, August, 29, 2011 at Proctor Funeral Home with Reverend Brandon Melton officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Unity Missionary Baptist Church, Hospice or the charity of your choice.
