Loraine Ponder Ellis, 93 of Maumelle formerly of Nashville, AR passed away Saturday August 8, 2015.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bennett (Benny) Ponder and Cliffa Brown Ponder, husband Francis Lee Ellis and sisters Laverne Carman and Zelma Gamer.
She and her husband owned Ellis Grocery and she was a former Howard County Deputy Clerk and retired from Nashville Water Department as bookkeeper. She was a member of Sunset Church of Christ and past member of the hospital Auxiliary and the Terra Pinna garden club.
She is survived by son Michael (Sonja) Ellis of Little Rock, daughters Susan (Tom) Groves of Bella Vista and Sharon Ellis of Marion; one brother Van Ponder of Dothan, AL; one sister Benny Ann Gilfilen of Atlanta, GA; 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews.
Services will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Nashville Funeral Home with Dr. Glenn Lance officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 -2:00 pm. Tuesday prior to service. Interment will follow at Bingen/Ozan Cemetery.
