March 6, 1929 - October 20, 2015
Perry Ford Beaver, age 86, of Camden, Arkansas entered his heavenly home on October 20, 2015. Perry, the youngest of five sons, was born March 6, 1929, in Chidester, Arkansas to Connie and Eva Beaver. After graduating from Chidester High School, he worked as a painter’s apprentice for International Paper Company. Perry joined the U. S. Army January 15, 1951, where he was stationed in El Paso, Texas. After honorable discharge, he returned to International Paper, and ultimately advanced to Maintenance Supervisor. After 38 years of service, Perry retired in 1985. He served on the Board of Directors for River Valley Federal Credit Union for over 50 years.
An avid farmer and rancher, Perry (along with his family) raised bountiful peach crops that were known far and wide. An honorary member of the Camden Hunting Club, he enjoyed deer hunting with his wife, boys, and grandchildren. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, and served in many capacities, along with his leadership role in the Won By One Sunday School Class. Perry was always ready, willing and able to help family, friends and neighbors. Kind and generous to all, honest and full of integrity, Perry leaves the legacy of a true southern gentleman.
Perry was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, Garland, Ray, Franklin and Woodrow. He leaves to cherish his memory the love of his life of 64 years, Martha Jean Anders Beaver; sons, Ron and wife, Norma, Mark and wife, Janet, all of Camden. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Jason and wife, Sherry of Collierville, Tennessee and Christy Beaver of Seattle, Washington; two great grandchildren, Madison and Gabriel of Collierville, Tennessee, and countless extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 22 from 6:00-8:00 P. M. at Proctor Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Friday, October 23 at 10:00 A. M. in the chapel, with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery in Camden, Arkansas.
