When James Anderson Durnal was born on March 18, 1871, in Washington, Arkansas, his father, Anderson, was 34 and his mother, Mary, was 28. He married Nancy Jennie Clark on June 9, 1896, in Faulkner, Arkansas. They had four children during their marriage. He died on August 10, 1935, in Marion, Oregon, at the age of 64, and was buried in West Point, Arkansas.

Nancy Jennie Clark was born on October 3, 1869, in Tennessee, the daughter of Mr. Clark . She married James Anderson Durnal on June 9, 1896, in Faulkner, Arkansas. They had four children during their marriage. She died on February 3, 1931, in White, Arkansas, at the age of 61, and was buried in West Point, Arkansas.
