Frances McKnight Oakley, 80, of El Dorado, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at Oak Ridge Nursing Home.

She was born April 28, 1933, to Rodney P. and Molly Aileen Cobb Smith in Hot Springs. She was a member of East Main Baptist Church and held various positions with the Arkansas Department of Human Services.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; son, Christopher Donald McKnight; and infant daughter, Patricia McKnight. Survivors include her son, Rodney McKnight and his wife, Amy, of Chicago; daughter-in-law, Frances D. McKnight of El Dorado; brother, Rodney P. Smith, Jr., and his wife, Elaine, of Tallahassee, FL; sister, Patricia Meeks; father of her children, Donald McKnight; and four granddaughters, Christy McElroy, Lori Ragan, Aria McKnight, and Mya McKnight.

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at Young's Funeral Home. Funeral will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Young's Chapel with the Rev. Alan Womack officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park in El Dorado, under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association Memorial & Tribute Program, P.O. Box 1653, Topeka, KS 66601-1653.
