Henry Levi Bailes, Sr., 60, of 515 S. Bellott St., died Tuesday morning in a local hospital following a short illness. Mr. Bailes was born Nov. 30, 1906 in Brinkley and was the son of Henry A. and Annie Johnston Bailes. He has been an employe of Macmillan Petroleum Co., for 31 years at the time of his death and had been a resident of El Dorado since 1924. Mr. Bailes was a member of the West Side Baptist Church and was also a member of the past grand master of the El Dorado Independent Order of odd Fellows. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Letha Fitzgerald Bailes of El Dorado; two sons, H. L. Bailes, Jr., of Odessa, Tex., and Lt. Comm. Ralph T. Bailes of Miramar Naval Air Station, San Diego, Calif.; a brother, W. E. Bailes of Helena; two sisters, Mrs. Fred King of Marvel and Mrs. Erwin Graham of Waldron; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the West Side Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery under direction of Rumph Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Doyle Terrell, James Sturdivant, Malcolm Graves, Earnest Smith, Bud Morris and Ralph Hampton. Honorary pallbearers will be employes of Macmillan Ring Free Oil Co. and members of the Men's Bible Class of West Side Baptist Church. (El Dorado Times - November 8, 1967)
