Mrs. M. M. Chapman, aged 95 years, died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Roberts, West Race Street, in this city Monday morning at 1 o'clock of heart trouble, following an illness of only a few hours.
Mrs. Chapman was born in Mississippi on October 13, 1836.
For many years Mrs. Chapman made her home in the Confederate Home, Little Rock. Some months ago she came to Searcy to make her home with Mr. and Mrs J. L. Roberts.
She is survived by one brother, L. G. Canfield, Searcy; one sister, Mrs. Mary Flint, Dawson, Tex.; also several nieces and nephews, Mrs. W. B. Cook, Searcy; Mrs. Oliver Mitchell, Center Hill; Messrs. A. B. Canfield, Searcy, and W. L. Canfield, Memphis.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 this afternoon by Rev. C. L. Franks followed by burial in Harmony cemetery.
