Obituary:
Billy M. Mann age 78 of Hermitage, AR, died Saturday, September 19, at his home. He was born in Hermitage, AR on February 3, 1931, a son of the late Oscar A. Mann and Lillie Belle Nelson Mann. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in Germany. For over 40 years, Billy worked in construction, as a carpenter and was a deacon at the Hermitage Baptist Church. Also preceding him in death is a brother, Jerrel Mann. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Bonnie Rhea Hines Mann of Hermitage, whom he married May 11, 1956; 1 son, Kenneth Mann and wife, Sharon of Hilo, AR; 2 daughters- Gail Wright and husband, Lynn of Hilo, AR and Rhena Burks and husband, Roger of Cordova, TN; 1 brother- Jerry Mann of Hermitage, AR; 3 sisters- Joyce Cantrell of Warren, AR, Peggy Sue Mann of Stevens, AR, and Belinda Hines of Stevens, AR; 6 grandchildren- Chris Wright and wife, Stefanie of Banks, AR, Brent Wright and wife, Amy of Parkers Chapel, AR, Jennifer Hargis and husband, Robert of Monticello, AR, Joshua Burks of Auburn, AL, Jacob Burks of Cordova, TN and Jonathan Burks of Cordova, TN; 4 great-grandchildren- Mia Wright and Will Wright of Parkers Chapel, AR, and Kylie Wright and Kayden Wright of Banks, AR. Funeral services were will be 2p.m. Monday, September 21, 2009 at the Hermitage Baptist Church with Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. Amy Wright was organist and soloist was Melvin Mills. Burial was in Union Hill Cemetery with flag presentation by Frazer's Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Brian Farmer, Brad Hines, Brady Hines, Russell Richard, Terry Don Richard, Greg Mann, James Cantrell, Jimmy Sanders. Honorary pallbearers were Noel Richard, Guy Johnson, Dr. Kerry Pennington and Deacons of Hermitage Baptist Church. Memorials are preferred-Hermitage Baptist Church and/or Bradley County Veterans Museum.
