Curtis Harold Satterfield, 78 of Mayflower went home to be with the Lord May 11, 2016. He was born March 11, 1938 in Mayflower to Curtis Lee and Myrtle Satterfield. Harold, as he was known to friends and family, was raised in Mayflower and graduated from Mayflower High School in 1956.

He spent 50 years in construction, working in California until his retirement in 1999. Since first pursuing a career in construction, his amazing and rare vision could be seen in the passion he put into his work. Among his accomplishments are : Restoring the Historic San Francisco cable car system, the rebuilding of Oakland Hills in Oakland, California after it was struck by a firestorm, developing large amounts of land in Mayflower, and his last masterpiece, Satterfield Farms where he spent his final days.

Upon retiring, he moved back to Mayflower where he proceeded to develop Satterfield Farms and transform it into a beautiful showcase, making his love of his community evident. Most of his time was spent doing what he loved, his tractors, enjoying time with friends and family, and being at his farm.

He leaves behind his loving wife Gloria Satterfield, his sisters Helen Boyd of Little Rock and Ramona Harrell of Mayflower, son Curtis (Hal) and wife Michelle of Conway, daughters Valerie Satterfield Macy and husband Jay Macy, Loria Satterfield Alven and husband Dean Alven of Mayflower. Grandchildren Sandy Houser, Mary Jean Brech, Curtis Satterfield III, Kayleigh Hartje, Dean Jay Alven Jr., Dylan Alven, Kyle Satterfield , Devin Alven, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and his cousins and lifelong close friends, Gene and Helen Long. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Special thanks to close family friends Robert DeClerq, and Jim and Shirley Evans.

Pallbearers include, Robert DeClerq, Curtis Satterfield, Dean Jay Alven Jr., Dylan Alven, Kyle Satterfield and Devin Alven.

Funeral Service will be Saturday May 14th 2016 at 2:00PM at Mayflower First Baptist Church. Visitation will start an hour prior at the Church. Burial will follow at Mayflower Cemetery.
