When Chester Andrew Higgs was born on February 1, 1907, in Arkansas, his father, Sidney, was 29 and his mother, Emma, was 23. He married Faye Vestal Stephens on August 12, 1928, in Faulkner, Arkansas. They had five children during their marriage. He died on January 10, 1974, in Conway, Arkansas, at the age of 66.
