Ila Verne "Sallye" Crisp Franks, 99 of Magnolia, Arkansas died Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Dudneywood Assisted Living Center in Magnolia, Arkansas.
Sallye was born November 26, 1913 in Calhoun, Arkansas to the late Fred and Ruby Crisp of Emerson. Sallye was raised in Emerson and graduated high school and college at Arkansas
A & M (SAU) in Magnolia. She studied piano at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia and was an accomplished pianist and taught music for many years. She was a lifetime member of the National Federation of Music Clubs of America and was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church in Magnolia. The greatest joy of her life was her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ernest F. Franks of Magnolia; sons-in-law Mike Snyder of Scott, Don Johnson of Magnolia; and her aunt Artie Sales of Haynesville, LA.
Survivors are her seven children Sara Sharp (Frank) of Fayetteville, Suzanne Snyder of Sherwood, Carolyn Johnson of Magnolia, Catherine Savage of Eureka Springs, Mary Ann Bowman of Tulsa, OK, John Savage of Addison, TX, Nancy Moore (Rev. Rick Moore) of Hot Springs Village; fifteen grandchildren John Rich (Jan) of Magnolia, Marla Rich of Cottage Grove OR, Greg Rich (Stayce) of Magnolia, Robert Johnson (Michelle) of Springdale, Rob Sharp (Lisa) of Fayetteville, Molly Sharp of Beaver Dam, VA, Alex Sharp of Fayetteville, Thomas Sharp of Fayetteville, Elizabeth Hayes (Ken) of Portland, OR, Michael Snyder of Sherwood, Chuck Bowman (Emily) of San Diego, CA, Andrew Savage of Brooklyn, NY, Max Savage of New York, NY, Josh Moore (Melody) of New York, NY, Cathy Pierce (Justin) of Hot Springs; twelve great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sister Mary Elizabeth Sale of Corinth, TX; two nephews Fred Sale (Sandy) of Panama City , FL, Dick Sale (Kathi) of Denton, TX; several great nephews and nieces.
A private family service will be held. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, January 20th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at 700 Sue Street, Magnolia, AR.
