Mrs Wynne Byars Hamer, 73 years old, Alma, Arkansas died Sunday, May 1 in a local nursing home. She was born December 23, 1893 at Alma and was a lifelong resident of that area. She was a member of the Alma First Baptist church.
Survivors are husband William P Hamer; daughters Mrs H T Chandler of Fort Smith and Mrs Keith Huckelbury of Yuciapia, California; sister Mrs Ellis Byars of Alma; half-brother Louis Byars of St Louis, Missouri; granddaughter Paula Chandler of Fort Smith.
Nephews serving as casket bearers were John Franklin Hamer, Andy Neal, Jay Neal, Jr, R H Neal, Willis W "Buck" Neal, Wayne Galloway, and Warren Wilson. The honorary pallbearers were Lock Williams, Homer Meeks, Drennon Byars, W C Wood, H L Cook, Bill Glass, L A.Teague, Hugh Lewers, Perry Newman, Cal Peevy and Charles Reeves.
