Rev. Charley Durrell Stanley, age 90, of Perryville, died December 22, 2012 at Perryville Nursing Home. He was born September 29, 1922 in Vick, Arkansas, the son of Grady and Ruth Stanley.

He awoke in Heaven where he was greeted by our Lord Jesus Christ and his lovely wife, Alpha Mae Jenkins Stanley. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Perryville.

Dad was a member of the greatest generation of Americans. He was born in the "Roaring Twenties", struggled through the "Great Depression", and served as a "Driver for the Medic and Doctors Core" in the United States Army. Dad pastored many Baptist churches in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. He met the love of his life Alpha Mae Jenkins in Warren, Arkansas and they married on September 3, 1949. They loved each other in marriage for 54 years until her death on January 17, 2004.

Charley Durrell Stanley is survived by his children, Marcia and Wayne White of Springdale, Belinda and Laird Baldwin of Dayton, Ohio, Michael and Regina Stanley of Perryville, David and Lynette Stanley of Wooster, Timothy Stanley of Conway, Jeff and Melody Stanley of Springfield, Missouri and Teresa and Gary Smith of Greenfield, Missouri. He is also survived by two brothers, Ray (Avenel) Stanley of Arkadelphia and Franklin (Cathy) Stanley of Hermitage and sixteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be at Hickory Springs Cemetery near Warren, with a committal at 2:30 Thursday afternoon.
