Blanche L. McKim 89 of Greenbrier died Thursday July 6, 2006. She was born August 15, 1916 in Needs Creek to the late Jess Lowery and Bonnie Glover Lowery. She was a Nurse’s Aid working at Conway Regional and retiring from CHDC. She was the widow of Troy Hartford McMillen and Alvin McKim and a member of First Baptist Church in Damascus.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Carolyn VanPelt of Greenbrier, granddaughter, Cyndi Bailey and husband Lee, son-in-law, Jimmy Carroll, great granddaughter Rachel Bailey and three great grandsons, Zach Bailey, Tyler Carroll and Tanner Carroll all of Greenbrier. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Vickie Carroll.
Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Bro. Freddie Mark Wilcox officiating burial in Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Greenbrier. Pallbearers are Larry Hargrove, Tom Stanton, Allen Bristol, Danny Roberts, Winfred Glover and Sug McMillen. Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church, Family Life Center.
When Blanche Lowry was born on August 15, 1916, in Faulkner, Arkansas, her father, Jess, was 19, and her mother, Bonnie, was 18. She married Troy Hartford McMillen on May 22, 1937, in Faulkner Township, Arkansas. She died on July 6, 2006, in Damascus, Arkansas, at the age of 89.
When Troy Hartford McMillen was born on November 26, 1916, in Arkansas, his father, Thomas, was 45 and his mother, Nancy, was 40. He married Blanche Lowry on May 22, 1937, in Faulkner Township, Arkansas. He also had three children with another wife. He died on November 22, 1954, in Kansas at the age of 37.
