Rites for Bald Knob Resident will be held today

Mrs. Portia Ethel Dodd, wife of W. Clarence Dodd, druggist of Bald Knob, Arkansas died in a Little Rock Hospital early Thursday. She was 65.
Mrs. Dodd was known over a wide section of the state, having held many offices in the Order of Eastern Star. For many years she attended every Grand Chapter meeting. She had been a member of the order for 48 years, and was instrumental in having a Chapter of Rainbow Girls instituted in Bald Knob last year. She was a past treasurer and charter member of the Bald Knob Business and Professional Women's Club. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She was born in Portia, Arkansas and being the first girl born in the town, was given its name.

She leaves her husband, two sons, Dr. William Carroll Dodd of Bald Knob and Dr. Perry L. Dodd of Augusta, two sisters, Mrs. Lorene Dye of Portia and Mrs. F. S. Neel of Little Rock and two brothers, Walter Williams and LeRoy Williams of Little Rock.
Services will be conducted by the Rev. Pharis J. Holifield at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Forbes Collison Chapel. Burial will be in the Shady Grove Cemetery at Bald Knob. She died Uremic Poisoning.
