Son of Alvin Burphus Kirkpatrick and Jink Elizabeth McCaulner.
When Alvin Weaver Kirkpatrick was born on November 9, 1915, in Arkansas, Arkansas, his father, Alvin, was 53 and his mother, Jink, was 48. He married Dorothy Montine Cotton on February 8, 1938, in Pulaski, Arkansas. They had one child during their marriage. He died on September 10, 1996, in Greenbrier, Arkansas, at the age of 80, and was buried there.
