October 13, 1891 - March 21, 1966
Steve George, 74, of Louann, Route One, died Monday at 1:15 a.m. in a Smackover hospital after a long illness. Mr. George was born in Coss, Greece. He was a retired cook and had lived in the Smackover area in 1926. He was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church. Survivors include a sister in Coss, Greece. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Joyce City Baptist Church with the Rev. Ross Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Smackover Cemetery under direction of Young's. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service. (The El Dorado Times - March 22, 1966)
