When Grover Henry Dancer was born on February 25, 1912, his father, Cricket, was 26 and his mother, Uither, was 19. He married Amelia Fewox on December 24, 1937, in Desha, Arkansas. They had one child during their marriage. He died on October 12, 1986, in Dumas City, Arkansas, at the age of 74, and was buried in Gould, Arkansas.
