Lela V Brown, 89, of Atkins, died Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. She was born December 26, 1923, in Atkins, to Willie Riley and Susie Clarinda Peters Standridge. She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Atkins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cecil Brown; brothers, Earl and Euel Standridge; grandson, Brad Gardner; and a great-grandchild.
Survivors include son, Carroll Brown of Atkins; daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and Rickey Smith, Mary and Wayne Faught, Christine Brown and Barbara and Terry Gardner, all of Atkins; grandchildren, Dennis Smith, Denise Anders and her husband, James, Justin Brown and Lauren Gardner; two step-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The graveside service and burial will be at 10 am on Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Oakland Cemetery near Atkins, officiated by the Rev. David Bishop. Arrangements are by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
