Mrs. Jessie Hunt Langley, 57, of 1002 Virginia St., died Wednesday in a local hospital. Born July 30, 1910, in Hampton, she was the daughter of Gus and Belle Thompson Benson. She had been a resident of El Dorado for over 40 years, a member of the Southside Baptist Church, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion and a former employe of Jones and Rochelle Cleaners. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. O. T. Murphy of El Dorado and Mrs. M. T. Diaz of Portland, Ore.; a sister, Mrs. P. M. Barrow of Kilgore, Tex.; five brothers, Richard H. Benson of Arkansas City, Doyle Benson and Hayward Benson, both of Hampton, Murl Benson of El Dorado and Jack Benson of Kilgore, Tex.; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Southside Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. J. Paul Palmer and the Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. The body was taken to the home of Mrs. O. T. Murphy, 514 W. Block St., Wednesday afternoon. Pallbearers are D. B. Jones, Pay Cauley, Dillard Alexander, Bill Adams, W. J. Holloway and Jack Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of the Southside Church, Jimmy Miller, the Rev. Conway Sawyer, Blackie Davis, Bob Little, Dave Rochelle, Red Yocum, Dr. C. E. Tommey and Dr. David Yocum. (El Dorado Times - February 9, 1968)
