Mrs. Kathryn Omelia Zwahlen, 47, of 1105 W. Seventh St., died Sunday afternoon in a local hospital following a long illness. Mrs. Zwahlen was born Aug. 19, 1920 in El Dorado and was the daughter of Edgar H. and Rena Alice Smith Murphy. She was a lifelong resident of El Dorado, an employe of the First National Bank and a member and former board member of the First Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Clifford Paul Zwahlen, Jr., of El Dorado; two daughters, Mrs. Rebecca Welch of Shreveport and Mrs. Patricia Ann Armstrong of Minden, La.; four brothers, Edgar Hugh Murphy of Dallas, Calvin M. Murphy and Joe B. Murphy both of El Dorado, and R. J. Murphy of Abbeville, La.; four sisters, Mrs. T. L. Greenlee of Woodbury, Conn., Mrs. R. M. Beasley of Monroe, Mrs. Roy Rogerson of Cushing, Tex., and Mrs. W. W. Bishop of El Dorado; and one granddaughter. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Methodist Church with Dr. Alvin Murry officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery by Rumph Mortuary. Active pallbearers will be Dan Whiddon, Joe Miller, Doyle Nesbitt, Walter Nash, Royce Dean and Luther Lamb. Honorary pallbearers will be employes of the First National Bank, members of the official board and the Mary Martha Class of the First Methodist Church, Dr. David Yocum, Jr. and Dr. C. E. Tommey. Memorial should be sent to the First Methodist Church of the Union County Cancer Society. (El Dorado Times - April 15, 1968)
