Z D Phillips, 94, a resident of Pottsville, Arkansas died Sunday, January 2, 2011, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. He was born May 14, 1916, at Lamar, Arkansas to William Andrew and Stella Shook Phillips. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II and was the "House Doctor" for Russellville Lumber Company for many years. He was a former member of the Pope County Fox Hunters Association and was a Christian. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eliza Williamson Phillips; and daughter, Mary Evelyn Nelson.He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Leonard Krout of Pottsville; grandchildren, Tammy Baker and hhusband, Garland of Russellville, Phillip Krout and his wife, Sandy of Rogers,Arkansas and Kevin Krout and his wife, Kelly of Rogers; great-grandchildren, Lindsey Bartlett, Whitney Baker, Kyra Grace Krout, Landon Guy Krout, Rex Mason Krout, Gus Abraham Krout and Leo Samuel Krout; great-great-grandchildren, Cash Bartlett, Pace Bartlett and Milli Baker; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers were Guy, Rex, Gus, and Leo Krout, and Cash and Pace Bartlett. Honorary pallbearers were the staff of the Atkins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Mr Phillips' doctor at the V A Hospital, Dr Rose Ann Winger.
