Mary Alice Whittington, age 88, of Hermitage, AR, died Wednesday, September 26, at Crossett Rehabilitation and Health Care. She was born June 28, 1930, in Quitman, MS, a daughter of the late Roshier Grayson and Gladys Wright Grayson. Mary was a retired security guard for Georgia Pacific, a member of Green Grove Church and the widow of Rev. Marvin J. Carney and Willis Whittington. Also preceding her in death was a son Rodney Carney; brothers Gene Grayson, David Grayson; a sister Mildred Neeley; 2 grandchildren; and a step- father Rayburn Pannel. Survivors are four daughters Diane Lochala and spouse Mac, of Columbus, MS, Barbara Jones and spouse Wesley of Crossett, AR, Teresia Hartness and spouse Mike of Crossett, AR, and Debbie Rumer and spouse Bill of Parker, CO. Eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service was 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 29, at Frazer’s Chapel with Bro. Tracy Boyd, Brent Lochala and Mark Lochala officiating. Linda Barrett was organist. Burial was in Holly Springs Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Mark Lochala, Brent Lochala, Jerry Lochala, Jimmy Self, Matthew Haney, Carolyn Judson, and Donnivan Carney. Honorary pallbearers were Justin Langley, Gavin Langley, J.G. Kufel, and Ronald Holloway.
