Maggie Lou King
Daughter of Elmer & Lura Knight King
Born & Died 1923
This interesting grave stone has stood in the Burnt School House Cemetery for years, and was probably placed there soon after the infant died. In recent years, a small granite marker had been placed in front of it (the second gravestone can be view at the # (2) entry).
This marker is a detached stalactite that has been become encased in moss. There is a small chain around the stalactite holding a copper dogtag. The dogtag is stamped as follows:
MAGGIE LOU
INFANT DAUGHTER
ELMER & LAURA KING
1923
(Note: the dogtag has the mother's named stamped as Laura, but Mrs. King actually spelled and pronounced her name Lura.)
