March 11, 1884 - January 22, 1965

Mrs. H. M. Geren died at her home, 1530 Champagnolle, at 10:40 a.m. Friday after a protracted illness. Member of a pioneer El Dorado family, Mr. Geren was Miss Julia Goodwin, daughter of the late Mrs. and Mrs. Hugh Goodwin, before her marriage. Her husband, the late Rev. H. M. Geren, was the pastor of several Baptist Churches in El Dorado before his death several years ago. Mrs. Geren is survived by three sons, Paul Geren of Washington, D. C., Hugh Geren of Shreveport, and the Rev. William Geren of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters, Mrs. Marian Blyton of Louisville, Ky., and Mrs. Watson Lacy of San Diego, Calif.; several sisters and a number of grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be announced. The family has requested that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society as memorials. (The El Dorado Times - January 22, 1965)
