Mrs. Helen Cordelia Whatley, 51, of 717 E. Oak St., died Wednesday night in a local hospital following a lengthy illness. Born Sept. 10, 1919, at Amity, she was the daughter of Thomas W. and Myrtle Neal Francis. She had been a resident of El Dorado for the past 47 years where she was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Louis Herbert Whatley; her mother of El Dorado; three brothers, Amis Francis of Arkadelphia, Olen Francis of Bayonne, N.J., and Tommy Francis of Dallas, Tex. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Rumph Mortuary. (El Dorado Times - January 28, 1971)
