Mrs. Ida Z. Riley, 91, of El Dorado, died Monday afternoon in a local nursing home. Mrs. Riley was born Feb. 6, 1876 in Union City, Tenn., and was the daughter of Rosanna Warren and Rudolph Zimmerman. She was educated in the public schools of Union CIty and received a BA degree from Peabody Normal College in Nashville, Tenn., in 1897. In 1898 she was married to the late Albert F. Riley, a former superintendent of schools in El Dorado. Mrs. Riley, after the death of her husband, became an instructor at El Dorado High School where she remained for nine years. Later, she was employed by the U. S. Post Office in El Dorado and remained there until her retirement in 1941. Prior to coming to El Dorado she served one year as Dean of Women at Central College in Conway. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church until ill health forced her to stay at home and was also active in foreign missions. She was also a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club. Survivors include a son, Dr. Warren S. Riley, of El Dorado, two daughters, Mrs. J. Guy Cothran of Greenville, S. C., and Mrs. Blake Smith of Austin, Tex., 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Don B. Harbuck officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Young's. Active pallbearers will be the following grandsons, Warren M. Riley, Alymer Smith Blake (Buddy) Smith, Joe Cothran, John Cothran and David Cothran. Honorary pallbearers will be employes of El Dorado Post Office and members of the NARCE Club.
