Mrs. Opal Reed, age 96, passed away at her home on January 21, 2018 in Cotton Plant, Arkansas. She was born on October 26, 1921, the daughter of the late Luster and Lillie Haynes.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 24th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Thompson-Wilson McCrory Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be on Thursday, January 25th beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Wooster, Arkansas.

Mrs. Opal was a member of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 63 years, Buel Wilks Reed, five brothers, Oval, Orville, McClelland, Buddy and Eldon Haynes, four sisters, Bonnie Cardwell, Lorraine Allen, Vida Baggett, Lyda Anderson and a great-grandson, Ethan Wilks Conerly.

She is survived by two daughters, Doris Wright, Mae Atkins and husband Clifford, six grandchildren, Cynthia Whitehead and Keith Webb, David Conerly, Rebecca O’Shields and husband Shawn, Deborah Coley, Kerry Hanna and husband John, Michael Atkins, thirteen great-grandchildren, Adam Gehring and wife Tiffany, Andrew Gehring and wife Cassie, Jessica Conerly, Erin Davis and husband Cody, Dakota Conerly, Alison O’Shields, Mallory Coley, Garrett Coley, Benjamin Hanna, Eli Hanna, Zoe Hanna, Eve Hanna and Kayla Atkins, five great-great grandchildren, Jack Davis, Mackenzie Davis, Scarlett Gehring, Addison Gehring and Oliver Gehring, one brother, Earl Haynes, one sister, Vuna Griego and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be David Conerly, Michael Atkins, Adam Gehring, Andrew Gehring, Cody Davis and Garrett Coley.
