A Funeral Service for Matthew Edward Perry of Norfork, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at Galatia Assembly of God, with Pastor Joey Bryant officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 3, 2017, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Matthew passed away December 31, 2016, in Norfork, Arkansas at the age of 82. He was born February 25, 1934, in Tuckerman, Arkansas, the son of Bob and Edna Perry. He married Lola Irene Bowman in 1952, and worked as an Aircraft Builder for Beech Aircraft, in Wichita, Kansas. Matthew was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War era. Matthew lived in Norfork since moving from Wichita, Kansas, in 1998. After Lola passed away in 2003, he and Betty Vredenburg bonded and became close, until she passed away in 2008. He was a member of the Galatia Assembly of God Church and enjoyed fishing.
Matthew is survived by his son, Robert Perry of Norfork, AR; two daughters, Stella Christine Smith of Andover, KS, and Edna Irene (Richard) Vanarsdale of Andover, KS; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lola Irene Perry; significant other, Betty Vredenburg; son, William Perry; two brothers; and a sister.
Burial will be in the Arkana Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
