Esther Anna Ruhl Powers, 61, of Conway, died Jan. 2, 1972. A native of Boynton, Oklahoma, she was born on Sept. 3, 1910, a daughter of German immigrants who originally came to Ohio, moved to Oklahoma and settled in Arkansas.
Survivors include her husband, Charles N. Powers; son, Charles L. Powers and wife Carol of Conway, a brother Matthew L. Ruhl of Lamar, Arkansas; two sisters , Freda Ruhl of Marysville, Ohio, and Florence Favre of Conway.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lena Nicol Ruhl; a brother, George Ruhl of Lamar, Arkansas and a sister, Bertha Mauritz of Little Rock, Arkansas.
She was the owner and operator of Marinello Beauty Shop for 36 years in downtown Conway before her retirement.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Conway and the Alathean Sunday School class. Rev. J.A. Kuehn conducted funeral services at McNutt Chapel.
Pallbearers were Fletcher Smith, Pete Barret, Rolland A. Bradley, Troy Kerby, Dr. V.N. Hukill and Bill Wright. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.
