Julia Catherine Sharrock, 88, of Conway passed away on Monday, May 7, 2012. She was born on Tuesday, October 23, 1923 in New York, NY to the late Michael and Julia (Mulryan) Tully.
Mrs. Sharrock was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed Calligraphy and possessed an artistic penmanship. She was known for singing old standard Irish ballads at the VFW Post 2259 in Conway every St. Patrick's Day. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and once held the position of President of the Christian Mother's. She was a former President of 20th Century Club and a den mother for the Cub Scouts.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Sharrock and wife Pat, and Richard Sharrock; three grandchildren, Margee Durand (Jamie), Christian Miller (Bradford), and Katie Sharrock; three great-grandchildren, Brian Kinney, Elizabeth Miller, and Michael Durand; three nieces, Kathy Tully Higgins, Louise McNamara (John), and Eileen Cox Goldborer (Paul); two nephews, Stephen Friedmann, and Danny Friedmann (Marla).
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis "Bunny" Sharrock; two sisters, Margaret Friedmann and Teresa Marie Tully; and two brothers, John Tully and James Tully.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father James Melnick officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery with Butch Siria, Brian "Red" Prewitt, Dr. Robert Logan, J. Scott Stevenson, Buddy Traylor, and Charles "Buzz" Pittman, serving as pallbearers. Leon Gilbert and Dwane Stone will serve as honorary pallbearers. Rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m., on Friday, May 11, 2012 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway with visitation to follow.
