Charlotte Edwards Van Deusen was born on July 30, 1892, in Detroit, Michigan. She married Bruce Carter Benedict on May 10, 1910, in Kenedy, Texas. They had three children during their marriage. She died on October 6, 1962, in Lakeland, Florida, at the age of 70, and was buried in Conway, Arkansas.
