Melton Agee Ward, 407 S. Parkway St., 53, died Monday morning in a local hospital following a brief illness. He was a certified public accountant for 30 years in El Dorado, was a member of Second Baptist Church, served as a deacon in the church, a teacher of the Stead Fast Sunday School Class, was a member of the Arkansas and National Association of CPA's and a member of the Civitan Club. He was past grand chancellor of the Knights of Pythias No. 89, a supreme representative of the lodge, a member of Dokeys and a navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his parents, Lula Evans and Henry Wesley Ward, his widow, Mrs. Ruby Morris Ward; a son, James Ward, Louisville, Ky; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Taylor, Minden, La.; two brothers, Dallas E. Ward and Harris A. Ward, both of El Dorado; two sisters, Mrs. Spear Titsworth and Mrs. Felix Pickering, both of El Dorado; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Second Baptist church with Rev. Tom Bray and Rev. Richard Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery under the directions of Young's. Pallbearers are Jimmy Goad, A. O. Rhodes, Lloyd Kundert, Lee Ellison, Jimmy Miller, Ray Hilyard, Robert Beard and Dodson Reynolds. Honorary pallbearers are the deacons of Second Baptist church, the Knights of Pythias, the Civitan Club and Dr. Grady Hill. (El Dorado Times - December 23, 1968)
