Lenox Attaway, 72, of 1515 Champagnolle Road, died early Thursday morning at his home from an apparent heart attack. Born Aug. 19, 1897 in Junction City, he was the son of Jesse Moss and Nettie Jones Attaway. He was a retired school teacher having been associated with schools in this area for 41 years. He served as principal of El Dorado Smith Avenue and Norphlet Schools. A lifelong resident of Union County, he was a member of the Second Baptist Church where he was a deacon and a Sunday School teacher. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Stella Breazeal Attaway of El Dorado; a daughter, Mrs. F. H. Henderson of Rayville, La.; a brother, O. M. Attaway of El Dorado; four sisters, Mrs. C. H. Cobb of Houston, Tex., Mrs. R. C. Taylor of Calidonia, Mrs. Curtis Jones of El Dorado and Mrs. C. T. Taylor of Junction City; four grandchildren and one great grandson. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Young's. (El Dorado Times - November 6, 1969)
