Noah Pesnell, 78, of Standard Umsted, died Tuesday morning in a local hospital after a long illness. Born Sept. 30, 1888 in Cullman County, Ala., he was the son of Frank and Elizabeth Cook Pesnell. Mr. Pesnell, a resident of Union County since 1921, was a retired employe of Phillips Petroleum Co. He was a member of the Joyce City Baptist Church and of the Mt. Sylvan, Texas Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Susie Dendy Pesnell of Standard Umsted; four sons, James Edward Pesnell of Standard Umsted, Cecil G. Pesnell of El Paso, Tex., Robert L. Pesnell of Eagle Lake, Tex., Harold D. Pesnell of Snowhill; three daughters, Mrs. Maybell McClellan of Benton, La., Mrs. Ruby Velma Hubbard of Freeport, Tex., Mrs. Dorothy Louise Patrick of Tyler, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Grady Miller of Joppa, Ala.; 22 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Rumph Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. C. R. McCollum officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery. (El Dorado Daily News - June 21, 1967)
