Alton A. Tiller, 76, of 304 N. Smith Ave., died Monday night in a local hospital. Born July 13, 1894, in Wyville he was the son of R. L. and Mary Ann Marsh Tiller. Mr. Tiller had been a resident of El Dorado some 35 years and was owner and operator of Tiller's Glass and Trim Shop. He was a veteran of World War I having served with the U. S. Navy. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Lena Parnell, Cotton Plant, and also leaves a niece, Mrs. Billy W. Tarpley of Cotton Plant. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Young's Chapel with Dr. Alvin Murray officiating. Burial followed in Arlington Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jerome Huffman, William L. Break, Earl Hall, Benny H. Fife, T. H. Mims and C. L. Hopkins. (El Dorado Times - February 3, 1971)
