Mary Jo Ellzey Nixon, 94, of Springhill, died Sunday, January 6, 2008.

She was born in the Wooster Community on June 26, 1913, and was the daughter of the late Clint and Mae Tilley Ellzey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, C.B. "Bide" Nixon, sisters, Sybil Wilcox and Inza Clifton, brothers, Tremont Ellzey and Clinton Ellzey, grandson, Curt Nixon and son-in-law, Buddy Castleberry.

Mary Jo was one of the oldest members of Springhill Baptist Church. She loved her church dearly and was a faithful member.

She is survived by a daughter, Billie Castleberry of Conway, and a son, Wayne Nixon (Elizabeth) of Springhill. She was known as "JoJo" to her three grandchildren, Gina Lemm (Gene) of Spring, Texas, Scott Castleberry (Cindy) of Keller, Texas, Steven Nixon (Brandi) of Springhill, and her seven great grandchildren, Taysha Hatfield (Bill), Taron Norton, Nathan, Jack and Isaac Castleberry, Reid and Riley Nixon. She is also survived by two sisters, Cornell Reynolds and Bonnie Loveless of Conway and a brother, William Ellzey of North Little Rock.

Mary Jo was retired from the Blue Ribbon Shoe Store.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, (January 8, 2008) at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier.

Funeral services will be held at Springhill Baptist Church Wednesday, (January 9, 2008) at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Ed Stephenson officiating. Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gene Lemm, Scott Castleberry, Steven Nixon, Joe Ellzey, Johnny Clifton, Brian Williams and Don Loveless.
