Betty Blackwell, 54, of Appleton, died Thursday, December 8, 2011 at her home.

She was born March 19, 1957 in Austin, Texas the daughter of Billy E. and Gladys Cox Jackson.

She was a volunteer with the Appleton Fire Department and the Hector First Responders. She was a member of the Evans Mountain Full Gospel Church and she loved to fish.

She is survived by her husband, William Blackwell, Jr. of Atkins; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, William "Eric" Blackwell and Jason and Angie Wilson, all of Atkins; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Scott Payton of Russellville; her parents; 2 brothers, Johnny Jackson of Atkins and James Jackson of Russellville; 2 sisters, Linda Joplin of Greenwood and Jo Moorehead of Cortland, Ohio; and grandchildren, Cody and Austin Davis of Russellville, Eddie Wilson of Mulberry and Angelina Wilson of Atkins.

Funeral services are 2:00 PM Saturday, December 10 at Evans Mountain Full Gospel Church with Rev. Darwin Barnhouse officiating. Burial is in Appleton Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation

Pallbearers are Mike Huse, Mark Parker, Matt Huffman, Jake Jones, Roger Standridge, Seth Summers and James Housley. Honorary pallbearers are the Appleton Volunteer Fire Department, members of the Hector Area First Responders and Travis Housley.
